Growing up in an urban environment it is only natural that I was drawn to sketching what I saw around me. The buildings, random street scenes, and of course the signage. Gone are the days when a business took great pride in the sign hanging outside. Now they install mass produced "Open" neon or a slab of florescent backlit plastic. I have always been attracted to the old signs and have tried to capture as may as I can. Some, I have been able to "turn on" one last time, through the use of my medium , others I have captured just as they are, like statesmen that have earned their rust and flaking paint like badges of honor for enduring the seasons. Some of these paintings have sold but I do have prints available for most.
